One of the closest beaches to Llechrwd campsite, just a 20 minute drive. This beautiful beach is about 4 miles of golden sands, accessed from the main carpark by a few minutes walk. Dog restrictions apply from April to end of September but still has one large section that allows dogs. Harlech castle can be seen behind the sand dunes, and wonderful views towards the mountains of snowdonia
Borth Y Gest is around a 20 minute drive from llechrwd. From this pretty harbour village you can access the coastal path which leads round to a series of sandy coves. Well worth an explore . Dogs allowed all year round
Morfa Bychan otherwise known as black rock sands is a unique beach in that you can drive your car onto the beach and park there all day (for a fee). Huge sandy beach with views across to Harlech in one direction, Criccieth in the other, and Moel Y Gest behind
Criccieth is a great place to visit, boasting a ruined castle and many places to eat including icecream and fish and chips, all beach side staples covered. A variety of stoney beaches to choose from, with golden sands when the tides out. Some dog restrictions apply in the summer season, but there are still dog friendly areas included.
Anglesey is just over an hours drive from Llechrwd, but is well worth a day visit to see any number of wonderful beaches. Rhos Colyn , porth Nobla, Llygwy, Llanddwyn , and penmon point are a few of my favourites
There are so many gorgeous beaches to visit on the Llyn peninsular if you don't mind travelling a bit further for your beach fix, Aberdaron, Abersoch, Morfa Nefyn just to mention a few. Pictured is Porth Ysgaden , this tiny beach is accessed down a rough track, but worth the journey.
